out there that is developing but aside from that, not a bad start to the day. we will see another pleasant day today for the most part. we'll start with the latest radar image. there was a little thunderstorm that came through earlier this morning off to the east. that has cleared out. you can see how it moved across the chesapeake bay and eastern portions of maryland. that has cleared out. as i mentioned, we do have some fog, a couple of clouds out there as well. as the day progresses, we will see lots of sunshine and we don't expect to see precipitation across the region today except for that lone shower or thunderstorm that came through a short time ago. now, let's take a look at the current conditions being reported at reagan national. that humidity is back. 87%. temperatures, 68 degrees and the winds are calm. so your forecast for today looks like this. after some morning fog, mostly sunny skies, warm and a little bit more humid today, i believe. highs today will be in the mid- 80s. not bad at all. >> that is a look at the weather.

more coming up in a little bit. >> let's check in with julie wright to get a look at traffic. >> hey, you guys. good morning to you all. we are looking pretty good around the capitally, overnight construction cleared as you leave braddock road and over 66. northbound i-95 clears of roadwork down in dale city. 59 in good shape headed northbound towards the occoquan. you are rolling at speed. no trouble spots on 395 between the beltway and the 14th street bridge. overnight construction was in place near 59 and college park tying up the two right lanes. beltway should now be cleared. that's a check of your fox 5 on-time traffic. sulaimon brown finally speaking to d.c. council members. the former one-time candidate for mayor set to appear before the committee that is investigating the hiring practices of d.c. mayor vince gray. stacy cohan is outside city

hall. let's get the late e. >> reporter: good morning. sulaimon brown has certainly made headlines with his accusations against the gray campaign of all sorts of payoffs and promised jobs. but until now, he has skillfully dodged coming before this council. that ends today. a superior court judge struck a deal in which sulaimon brown has to testify before the council committee today. brown claims that gray paid him cash and that he was promised a city job to continue attacks against adrian fenty. he says that he got that city job which he did land but then was fired after those allegations were made public. >> i'm sort of surprised by this because i hay conversation with mr. brown before of the investigation began. he said he was very happy to do that. didn't need a subpoena. >> and mary cheh talking there about the fact that sulaimon brown originally said he wasn't going to testify or did everything possible to avoid it and now he is being compelled

to do so. brown tells fox 5 that he has other checks other than the ones already made public, that he will have here before the council to prove that his allegations are true. reporting live, i'm stacy cohan. back to you. >> thank you. the d.c. attorney general meantime promising to make an announcement today. the investigation of councilmember harry thomas. thomas has been under investigation to find out where he got the money to buy an audi suv. thomas said he used his money to buy the suv through a company he owned before he became a councilmember. there are questions about whether that company got a sizable payment from his campaign committee and whether he should have reported the suv as a gift or income. the attorneys general is set to peek on this investigation this morning at 11:00. new this morning, a 12-year- old boy is recovering after being shot in the ankle in the district. it is one of two shootings in d.c. overnight.

he was shot around 11:30 last night in the minnesota avenue southeast. investigators say the victim may have been a victim of a robbery. the trial begins today for the woman accused in a deadly hit and run accident that happened near dupont circle. police say jorita davidson hit kela ryan as ryan tried to get into a car on connecticut avenue back in october. a witness gave officers a license plate number. they were then able to trace the vehicle to davidson and arrest her at a friendship heights condo. prince george's county police say alcohol and speed were factors in a crash that killed three people on indian head highway. this happened early sunday morning just south of wilson bridge drive. police say a gmc yukon rear- ended a mazda sending that crashing into a tree. two passengers were thrown from the mazda. >> the driver of the gmc yukon was not injured as a result of

the accident but he was subsequently arrested and is being charged with driving under the influence. >> now, the driver of mazda, 53- year-old eugene johnson, and a passenger, 52-year-old gwendolyn denby did die in that crash. another woman in the mazda was also killed. police have not released her identity. the bus company involve in last week's deadly crash on i- 95 now accused of trying to stay in business by simply repainting the names on its buses. the transportation department found that sky express was trying to sell tickets under the names 108 tours and 108 bus. four people tied when the sky express bus ran off the interstate near king's dominion last tuesday. the driver has been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter. the montgomery county search crews will be back out at the tridelphia reservoir looking for the body of a man

believed to have drowned there on friday. investigators say 21-year-old bruce yanson and two others were swimming in the reservoir when yanson went under. new details in europe's deadly e. coli outbreak. officials think they have found the culprit. a developing story out of arizona. one of the largest wildfires in that state's history. worries now that it might get worse. we'll have an update coming up.

le bit. we are following a developing story this morning. two wildfires continue to grow out in arizona. the wallow fire is one of them. it is burning near the mexican border. the 287 square mile blaze makes it the third largest fear in that state's history. more people in the white mountain communities are being evacuated because of it. hot, dry and windy weather is also making thing more difficult for firefighters. >> it is raining ash right now. we are anot getting any relief from the wind. >> it is dry. the wind is blowing. they can't stop it. >> the potential for some of this high winds to kick back up and send embers flying above the lines that are already established, there is stillen imminent threat. >> bad news is there is still

zero containment on the wall owe fire. the other one, the horseshoe two blaze is burning to the south of there. it is now the fifth large nest arizona history. firefighters have come from as far away as new york to help battle the fires. first, there was the mississippi and now the missouri river threatening communities in a large part of the country. recent rains combine with a massive snow melt have caused river levels to rise and a lymph lee yeek is causing concerns in hamburg, ohio -- ain't levee leak is causing concerns in hamburg, ohio -- a levee leak is causing concerns in hamburg, ohio. thieves caught on camera ripping off some valuable material, several thousand dollars worth actually.

we take a look outside over wisconsin avenue this morning. waiting for the sun to come up. it is in the 60s right now across the d.c. area. hundreds of married couples said i do all over again at the basilica in northeast d.c. yesterday. the special ceremony took place as part of the mass celebrated by archbishop donald wuerl. the couples were from all over the archdiocese and all have been married at least 5 years. 387 couples have been married for 50 years or more. while everyone has their own

difference between today and the last couple of days, i think. temperatures right up there again. let's take a look at what is going on. we'll start with the temperatures yesterday. our high temperatures, reagan national, 82 degrees and our average high for the date, 82 degrees. so we were right where we should be. dulles international got up to 81 yesterday. 83degrees at bwi marshall. let's take a look at what is going on out there with the current temperatures around the region. we are in the 60s. unfortunately, our dew points are in the 60s in much of the area. that is why before a little bit -- we have a little bit of fog out there. 61 in gaithersburg. frederick at 59 degrees. quantico, 65. here is a look at the satellite- radar composite for the region. you can see there is nothing

going o we have some clouds here and there, some fog . some rainfall moved through during the overnight hours. you will see we've got mostly quiet conditions across the eastern united states again so another day where it will be quiet today. nothing in the form of any storms or anything like that. so, forecast for today looks like this. lots of sunshine, a warm afternoon. warmer than yesterday. high, 84 degrees. i think more humid today as well. light winds out of the north, five to 10 miles per hour. for tonight, mostly clear skies. a mild night. overnight lows in the 60s for most of you. then your five-day forecast, i'm confirming what a lot of people were asking me about over the weekend. lots of folks saying all right, are we just not going to have any more spring. are we into summer. yeah, it looks like it. 80s today, near 90 tomorrow.

drive leaving business 34 headed in towards centreville. that's a check of your fox 5 on-time traffic. a strange crime at one local home caught on tape and a silver ving woman hopes the security images will catch the thieves. >> they stole the gutters from her home because they are made of copper. roz plate are shows us how the theft went down and the pictures police wanted to you look at. >> just about 10like in the morning, the first thief sporting some kind of mohawk crew cut heads to the front door to make sure nobody is home. moments later, his partner in crime emerges hammer in hand and in the upper right-hand corner of the surveillance video, thief number one takes a second load of copper gutters to their white getaway van while new year's eve number two is still working moving quickly. finally, their mission complete, they take off. total time, four and a half minutes. >> up there, you can see where they yanks out one of the downspouts. you can see also the breaks here where they ripped it out

of the one that goes underground. >> reporter: the silver spring woman came home to find find nearly a couple thousand dollars worth of copper gutters gone. >> we were shocked. >> reporter: thieves had also struck at another home in the sligo park hills neighborhood and it is a growing problem. with the price of copper soaring, thieves are getting more creative about how they rip it off. d.c. police say at least four times in the past few weeks, crooks have snagged underground copper electrical wiring climbing into manholes to get it. leaving nearby neighborhood streets in the dark. >> this just made me angry. it is the second time this home owner has been struck vowing to be a victim no more. she put up surveillance cameras. >> we put them in specifically buzz you get tired of people getting away with this. the police have a lot of other things to do, more serious ways to spend their time than facing these petty burglars. so if we can help them catch

south we're taking a live look outside right now. definitely feeling like a summer day out there. here the thing. teens are in their final days of school before that you are summer break too. so some of those with as biotechnology industry organizations to work over the summer have already secured employment. >> many of those still hoping to land a position. one job search authority says it is still not too late. brenda buckner has more. >> reporter: last year, teen job seekers survived the weakest summer job market in decades. data from the bureau of labor statistics shows that, from may

through july, employment for teens was down more than 17% from 2009. but this year, outplacement firm challenger, gray and christmas says the hiring climate is looking up. ceo john challenger. >> teens should be more optimistic that last year was at the bottom and we're coming out of that now this summer. >> reporter: for the many still hoping to land position, it is not too late. a lot of teen jobs are filled right on the spot and challenger says nothing beats actually walking into a business, introducing yourself to the manage are and asking about job opportunities. >> go to places, meet the boss, tell them or her that you are reliable, you'll be on time, that you get along well with others, that you want the job. >> >> reporter: searching for jobs where others are not and looking for odd jobs at off hours should give you an advantage. >> working outside in jobs of heavy labor, being open to working at odd hours, telling the company that you will come in maybe to replace someone who is on vacation to get your foot in the door.

there as you saw in the pictures. not the prettiest morning we've seen lately. going to be another warm one today but not as warm as it will be later this week. let's take a look at the temperatures across the roone on. we are in the 60s. here in the district, we've dropped off to 67 degrees. it is 6 # up in baltimore. 65 at dulles airport. fredericksburg, virginia, 64 degrees and in frederick, maryland, it is 59 degrees at this hour. here is a look at the satellite- radar. we've had some clouds out there during the overnight hours. those are pushing out. we do have some fog that has developed during the last couple of hours or so. that will eventually burn off and then leave us with mostly sunny skies for today. so the forecast for today looks like. this lots of sunshine. >> a warm afternoon, more humid than it was this weekend. 84degrees for your high today. not a bad day at all. we'll have more details on that. coming up ain just a little bit. >> it will feel a lot like it did this past weekend? >> it will be more humid. that will be a difference.

council meeting. stacy cohan has more. >> reporter: mayor grey's mayoral term was very young and fresh when it was quickly culied by these allegations by former mayoral candidate sulaimon brown. he has quite scwilfully avoided coming down here to tell his story but he will be forced to testify today before the d.c. council. the reason he is being compelled to testify is a superior court judge has ordered sulaimon brown to do so. brown, of course, said that the gray campaign -- or alleges that the gray campaign gave him not only cash but promised a high-paying job in exchange for continued attacks on then mayor adrian fenty. now, we spoke to mary cheh asking her why she thought it was so important to compel sulaimon brown to testify and why she was so surprised by the fact that he was avoiding testifying. >> i'm sort of surprised by this because i had a conversation with mr. brown before the investigation began. he said he was very happen you

speak on the investigation this morning at 11:00. new this morning, a 12-year- old boy is recovering after being shot in the ankle in the district. it is one of two shootings that happened in d.c. overnight. the 12-year-old was shot around 11:30 last night in the 3400 block. minnesota avenue southeast. investigators say the boy may have been the victim of a robbery. the other shooting, that one happened around 3:45 this morning on seventh and l. that was near the convention center. a man was shot in the stomach but so no word on his condition. a trial is set to begin today for a woman accused in a deadly hit and run accident. it happened near due pond circle. jorita davidson face as a voling tarry manslaughter charge. police say she hit kela ryan as she tried to get into a car on connecticut avenue back in october. officers were able to trace the vehicle to davidson and arrest her. prince george's county police say alcohol and speed were factors in a crash that killed three people on indian

an afternoon of fun in the sun turned into a scary situation when three bounce housed blow away. there were children inside of

them. this happened on long island. nicole john hon has the story. >> reporter: inflatable bounce houses with children inside take flight, flipping in the air right towards a crowd at a soccer event in oceanside. as a parent records this video, others rush to stop the bouncy houses from fly ago way, trying to save the kids. >> my first reaction was for follow everybody else, all the men just started running. all the dads took off to go get it and hold it down and let the air out of it and that is what i did. >> i feel bad for the parents because you see the parents trying to judge p -- to jump up and grab their kids. i think if it was one of my little siblings that, would be horrible. >> a heavy gust of wind blue the houses across the sock are field, up in the air several feet. when they landed, several people on the ground were knocked off their feet and shaken. >> i am ware of the fact that these things can happen. you really don't have full

highs in the 80s and 90s again. no 90s today with you we'll be well into the 80s. let's look at the weather headlines for today and the rest of this week. the week starts off sunny. there is some clouds and some fog. we'll have lots of sunshine today. humidity on the rise. this weekend was very pleasant but starting today, we'll start to see some increases in that humidity. it is more humid right now this morning than it has been the previous several mornings. heat we've is to return. remember, last week, those temperatures in the 90s. we're headed there again for the end of this week and maybe at the end of the week being we could see some thunderstorms for the latter part of the week but it looks like that activity will hold off until then. temperatures across the region look like this. we are at 67 degrees here. 65 out at dulles airport. annapolis is at 70. baltimore, # 3. win chft are, 57 and also 57 in cambridge,
